ECF - Most Able Learners: Stretch & Challenge (Secondary NQT+1s)

Who is this programme for? 
For teachers who have completed their NQT year, and would like to further develop their skills of Standard 2, 4 & 5 of the emerging Early Career Framework (ECF) – Most Able Learners – Stretch and challenge

Outcomes 
Delegates will increase their knowledge and understanding of the details of The Early Career Framework Standards 2, 4 and 5.

2- How pupils learn and promoting good progress
4- classroom practice. Plan and teach well-structured lessons with engaging challenge elements
5- Adapt teaching to all abilities. Most Able students are a vulnerable group who need to be differentiated for.

The following will be explored during the session:
  • Recent publications and data regarding Most Able learners
  • How students learn as well as strategies for increasing students risk and resilience
  • Strategies to generate motivation to stretch and challenge all learners
  • Understanding Most Able learners as a vulnerable group
  • Strategies to generate challenge for all

Who is the Trainer?
The course is delivered by Jade Carter who is the Most Able Coordinator at Mayflower High School, Billericay. Jade has previously worked as a Class teacher, Assistant Head of Department and Key Stage 4 Coordinator for Geography. She has a degree in Geography and trained with Billericay Education Consortium as well as facilitating training.

How will my School benefit?
Delegates will be able to discuss strategies for Most Able learners and share good practice as well as being shown multiple strategies to take away. This session will provide delegates with the opportunity to engage and be exposed to a range of strategies enabling them to create their own resources to increase students risk taking and resilience. There will be discussion based upon Most Able students as a ‘vulnerable’ group whom should be differentiated for and the need to support and aid these students in their learning as well as the need for challenge to be accessible to all.

How will my students benefit? 
Students will in turn benefit from a range of strategies that you will be equipped to deploy to ensure challenge is accessible for all.
